Remote Disconnect?

There seems to be a disconnect on just what ‘remote’ means when applied to workers and location. Remote does not mean disconnected, separate, siloed, directionless, or intangible. Being remote means that your team is not colocated, and only that.

Does this mean that there are no problems with remote teams?

No, but the challenges that you have will be the same as you have for colocated teams; communicating a shared vision and providing leadership and support to prevent lack of engagement, purpose, sense of belonging, and missing a cultural connect.

Team members need to be coached to take ownership, communicate, and collaborate – all factors that are supported by Agile and Scrum practices.
